~ Our Story ~

Growing up Italian meant growing up with TONS of great Italian food. For as long as I can remember our freezer has been filled to the brim with containers of fresh, homemade spaghetti sauce. When we would visit my Nonna’s house (Nonna is Grandmother in Italian) we would always bring a cooler so we could stock up on her fresh sauce. Eventually my mother was handed the wooden spoon and instructed to keep the tradition going.

For years my mother raised her own tomatoes and at the end of every summer she would spend weeks cooking up batches of sauce for the whole family. When we would make pasta for dinner one of the family members was always charged with retrieving a container of sauce from the freezer. After years of bountiful harvests from our family garden we had dozens of containers of sauce some dating back three or four years. We all joked that great sauce was like fine wine and that you could tell the difference between the different years. We started asking “What ‘vintage’ would you like for dinner?”

Now it’s my turn. The Sauce has been confined to our family’s kitchen for too long. It’s time to let it loose on the world! When the wooden spoon was handed to me I declared that I would show the world what homemade sauce really tastes like.
